World Touring Car Championship 2005
The new 2005 FIA World Touring Car Championship grew out of the European Touring Car Championship and was the ultimate battleground for world dominance in tin-top motor racing.
Back again with his BMW Team UK car prepared RBM, Andy took on the might of full works outfits from BMW, Alfa, SEAT and Chevrolet.
You know the outcome but watch the ups and downs as they unfolded, round by round:
- 1: Monza, Italy
- 2: Magny Cours, France
- 3: Silverstone, UK
- 4: Imola, Italy
- 5: Puebla, Mexico
- 6: Spa, Belgium
- 7: Oschersleben, Germany
- 8: Istanbul, Turkey
- 9: Valencia, Spain
- 10: Macau, China
Each weekend round comprised 2 races. The grid for race 1 was decided by Saturday qualifying, and the grid for race 2 by the finish order in race 1 but with places 1-8 reversed. Drivers accumulated success ballast of up to 50kg based on their position in the table.
